Steph's son Eugene:
Gene began his first serious career as a mortician, Sharon as a nurse. When we got married in 1962 we moved to Vancouver, to Powell River and eventually to Courtenay. Terry was born in 1966 at the Cumberland Hospital that I worked in.
In 1968 we moved to Milk River, AB where Gene opened Mandin's Tire Store Ltd which he owned and operated until 1993. Joni and Wendy were born in Milk River Hospital in 1968 and 1970. I worked at the Border Counties General Hospital for many years, becoming Director of Nursing from 1980 to 1994.
We moved to Lethbridge and we had a short career change to Amerispec Home Inspection Services Ltd. However we were ahead of our time for home inspections in Lethbridge, so Gene bought the franchise for Medichair Lethbridge Ltd and I became a Clarica advisor with insurance and investments, which we continue to do to the present, although we both are able to take considerable time off when we want.
Terry is a computer analyst in Calgary and Corinne is staying at home with their three children. She has her Master's degree in Family Counselling, so when she is ready to go to work she will see what opportunities are available.
Joni is working as a Laser technician, helping Justin with Hughson Trucking, and busy with her two children and their activities. Justin is running the family businesses of Hughson Trucking and ServAgro (fuel and fertilizer sales).
Wendy is working part-time with Public Health and is busy with her three little ones. Trevor is an environmental scientist with the Alberta conservation Association.
